We buy silverware such as silver cutlery, candlesticks, bowls and plates. The condition is not important. Damaged or completely destroyed silverware is just as suitable for selling as unused items in a good or excellent condition. If you don't have scales or don't have any time to determine the weight of your valuables, then we will carry out the determination of the exact and value for you.

It doesn't really matter whether you want to sell a few individual pieces from your private household or large consignments from antique shops or remainders of stocks.

What do you have to consider when selling tableware?

Silver knives: The inside of the silver handle is often filled with sand or another type of filling. As this sand has a significant influence on the weight, it has to be removed prior to valuation. As well as that, the blade of the knife is also not made of silver and also has to be removed.

Example: 10 silver knives 800 silver

Total weight of knives 700 grams
Total weight of filling in blade 200 grams
Weight of silver 500 grams

In this case, we would pay you for 500 grams of 800 silver. Please note that the deduction of weight only concerns knives and does not apply to forks or spoons.

Yet, there are also other silverware items that are filled with sand or even cement. This happens very often to candlesticks. In earlier days, candlesticks were very often filled to increase the sturdiness. In such cases, we would remove the filling for you and determine the exact weight of silver.

Look at the hallmark (silver stamp)

Items with the following hallmarks are made from high quality silver and can be sold to us at a very good price: 13, 14 and 15 with a lino mark as well as 800, 835, 900 and 925.

Items with the following hallmarks cannot be sold to us because they are only silver-plated. Silver-plated means that there is only a low content of real silver: 80, 90, 100, 110, 150 as well as the silver fake ARG 800.
